We pulled into Palm Springs yesterday. I still think Palm Springs is one of the greatest places to spend the winter.

Coming into Palm Springs

Palm Springs, our last stay in California.  Could not ask for better weather.  Beautiful!  Love where we are staying. Very clean, and the views are wonderful.  Had breakfast at one of our old haunts from years ago and then visited some of our favorite spots.

Only in Palm Springs and Florida can you drive your golf cart to the store.  Had to take a pic of them all lined up.

We have a lemon tree in our site, and of course I had to have my better half climb up and pull some down.

We have a pond near by where we visited the resident ducks and have enjoyed walking around and meeting some of the other visitors, many here for the season.  Our neighbors are from Vancouver Island and will be here until March.

Any Questions?

Home Sweet Home!

Tomorrow we hope to revisit more spots and take in all that this area has to give; which is a lot.  We will let you know where we go and what adventures may occur.

This evening we sat outside with a nice glass of wine and watched the thousands of migrating birds trying to make a joint decision on what  "Hotel California," tree they were going to snooze in for the night.  They put on a good show. Click on the images below to watch the videos.

Thank you again for your visit and for following us,

Life’s a beach in San Clemente, California.

Hi friends and family,

You can always leave comments at the bottom of the page or email us at brqyvn@gmail.com.

We slept at the San Clemente State Beach RV Park last night. There aren’t many State RV Parks with direct access to the beach. We were impressed. As they say; “If you are lucky enough to live near the beach…you’re lucky enough”.

We arrived here late afternoon and did not have much of a chance to explore and take pictures, other than with our iPhones. The weather channel was predicting rain all day for today and we were bummed out when we went to bed last night. The weather man was wrong and it was a beautiful day. We walked on the beach and watched surfer “dudes” for a while. The commuter train rides along the beach and that’s pretty special. It has to be a pleasant commute.

The Old Town San Clemente is typical to other beach towns although this area is not as affordable as other beach towns I’ve seen before. Looking through the window of a real estate company, a small and humble cottage was listed close to one million dollars while a nice house on the beach was listed to three and one half million dollars. The beauty of RVing is that we can live where the wealthy live, for a short while and at a much lower cost. We can move to a new neighborhood anytime we want.

Now you see it...

now you don't.

We will be leaving Tuesday around noon to our next destination…Palm Springs. We lived in Palm Springs for five years and it will be nice to visit for a few days and explore our old haunts.  Looking forward to some warm sun and a swim in the pool.

I will close with this YouTube video of San Clemente State Beach RV Park.

RVing in the San Diego area.

Hi friends and family,

I haven't written much lately but we are still in San Diego.. We have been in the area for the last five weeks. Anne's son lives here and we get to enjoy our grand daughter before leaving California. Anne has had a permanent smile since we arrived.

Next week, we are finally getting back on the road, heading  for Texas. We will likely take two weeks or more to get there. There is no rush when you are retired.
I have just  received a new camera from Pentax/Ricoh.  I am writing a new e-book for this new camera and I want the pictures to reflect the "South Western" way of life. The road from Southern California to Texas is what defines much of the South West and I will try  to stop in Santa Fe for a few days.

We are currently parked at the Rancho Los Coches RV park. It is a small but fantastic RV park and we have met so many nice people. We have enjoyed the beautiful pool area and how quiet and clean the park is. There are so many different varieties of trees that give shade to your campsite and daily we enjoy watching woodpeckers across the creek from our space and the eagles that fly along the wooded area.

The park has many activities and last week we attended a Chili-Cook-Off and Cornbread contest. It was great. This coming Friday, they have organized a "Spooktacular" for Halloween; which includes a Dog Parade & Costume contest, followed by Pet and Children Trick or Treat around the park and finally Food and Fun with Ghoulish Treats for all and then there will be a Camp Site Decorating contest. We will attend with our granddaughter and son. Saturday will be our  last day here, but we do plan to return some day.

There was enough chili to feed the whole park and it was really good.

Anne with our new found full time RV friends. Gerald and Row Spadt. What a nice couple. They usually spend their time at the Lakeside RV Resort in Pahrump, Nevada. They have family in San Diego, like us, and they spent about a month here visiting their children and grandchildren. They have three wonderful canine companions, "KC, Roxie, and Pepper."

For the last two weeks, this has been our RV spot
Nice swimming pool and weather in the 80's  almost every day, and we were almost the only people in the pool every day. It shows that we are new at this full time  RVing.
Friends, have a safe trip if you are travelling. Family, follow us wherever the long way home takes us.We love you all.
